it's been 12 years since i first read ray franz's books and the scales came off my eyes.
by that time i was in my forties.. since 2002 i went back to school and have worked with 3 very professional organizations.
but my biological clock is ticking away and while my peers are looking forward to retirement, i am only beginning.

It really is a sad realization that we wasted someof the best years of our lives in the cult. The thing is, no matter what we would have accomplished, we would still be here now. Perhaps just beginning something or even starting over in some way. That's what I remind myself of when I get discouraged because of the wastefulness.
That thought doesn't undo the damage, but it does put it in perspective for me. Hope it helps you a little.
i have just had a radiology appt where i was told i had fibroids.
great.. i had a mirena coil fitted 2 months ago to control heavy and prolonged periods, suffering for about 14 months.. i wonder what my gp will suggest now??.

"jehovah's spirit seems to be blocked here in the congregation...perhaps he is bringing something to light...etc".
it seems that the org often uses this expression, and links it with the "fact" that god wont bless a cong as much,(or at all) if there is "stuff" or "sins" being carried out.. so, why is it then that the cong i am in is experiencing its best years of activity in all aspects?

The teens in my congregation thought that masturbating (secret sin) would hinder the free-flow of holy spirit.

i have words that irritate me and not always without reason.. my latest hate is the word: 'solutions' as used by so many businesses in their title these days.
y'know, 'something innane business solutions' and such balderdash.. i loathe that word now.

a poster on another thread reminded me of when there was a 15 min.
break between the talk and the wt study on sundays.
the break was supposed to be to allow jw's time to drive their bible studys home from the talk.
That was our favorite part!!! Time for treats!!!
Our mom thought it was ridiculous to take away the break and we still had fun time for about 15-20 min...lol
at our service meeting we saw the video of a jw explaining his beliefs about 1914.. it was.....well, "underwhelming" does not do it justice.
